Summary

Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) is opening a North Austin Campus including a comprehensive Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The North Austin Campus will provide a full scope of care for both pediatric and women's services. Texas Children's Hospital presence in Austin helps deliver regional coordination of care and is synergistic to the core services offered at our Texas Medical Center campus in Houston. One of the largest pediatric hospitals in the United States, with 897 licensed beds, TCH provides the best possible pediatric patient care, education, and research. Job description

The position will have a 75% Palliative Care and 25% PHM allocation.

The faculty at Texas Children's Hospital are within the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine (COM). Baylor COM fosters diversity among its students, trainees, faculty, and staff as a prerequisite to accomplishing our institutional mission and setting standards for excellence in training healthcare providers and biomedical scientists, promoting scientific innovation, and providing patient-centered care. Pediatric Palliative Care, a division within Baylor College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics, in association with Texas Children's Hospital, is seeking qualified board eligible/board certified candidates for an Assistant/Associate Professor Clinical faculty position. The faculty will work to develop a clinical pediatric palliative program for the North Austin Campus. Additional duties include developing educational programs for healthcare providers and cultivating partnerships with community programs. The applicant should be board certified or board eligible in hospice and palliative medicine and pediatrics or a pediatric subspecialty.

Austin presents a clear and compelling opportunity to extend Texas Children's mission to a large and growing population of children and women where there is currently a need for programmatically integrated healthcare. Our Austin Urgent Care opened in March 2018, fourteen pediatric practices currently operate in the Austin area, and our first Specialty Care Center opened in October 2019. The Specialty Care Center is located at 8611 North Mopac Expressway, approximately 10 miles south of the North Austin Campus. The North Austin Campus will provide a full scope of care for both pediatric and women's services. Texas Children's presence in Austin helps deliver regional coordination of care and is synergistic to the core services offered at our Texas Medical Center campus in Houston.
