Job Description
Summary of PositionProvide instruction to graduate nursing students, with a primary focus on advanced practice. Responsibilities include teaching and facilitating student learning through evidence-based instructional strategies; and managing student coursework and communication through online learning platforms. In addition to teaching, the position includes participation as the Psych NP program director, development of the program, and service activities that support the mission of the department, college, and university, such as mentoring students, contributing to curriculum development, and engaging with the professional community.
Position Information
Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, and the possibility of some weekend days.

Qualifications and Competencies
Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: Unencumbered Ohio Registered Nurse license (RN) by the time of appointment. Certification in field of study Psych Nurse Practitioner.
Sponsorship and/or Work Authorization Status: This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
Minimum Qualifications: An earned master’s and bachelor’s degree of Science in Nursing (MSN and BSN); unencumbered active Ohio Registered Nurse license (RN) at the time of employment; certification in field of study Psych Nurse Practitioner.
Preferred Qualifications: Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), PhD, or dual certification of Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult Gero- Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) along with Psych Nurse Practitioner.
Physical Requirements: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform sedentary work.
Sedentary: work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs may be defined as Sedentary when walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other Sedentary criteria are met.
