What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking a Information Systems Architect.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Translate business needs into technical solutions and defines solutions to business problems through reasoned application of information technology.
- Design, develop, and analyze overall architecture of internal systems, including hardware and software.
- Determine integrated hardware and software architecture solutions that meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security needs.
- Coordinate design and integration of systems and dependencies.
- Research and recommend technology to improve current systems.
- Develop or modify information systems, including analyzing business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing systems as necessary.
- Configure system settings and options; plan and execute unit, integration and acceptance testing; and create specifications for systems to meet business requirements.
- Investigate effective business solutions and apply and monitor the use of required tools, methods, and standards.
- Work with clients and staff to conduct high-level investigations for strategy studies, requirements specifications, and feasibility studies, and communicate requirements to staff.
- Create specifications and prototypes of recommended solutions using resources, standards, methods, and tools.
- Advise on alternatives and assesses technical limitations within operations realities.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Salary Range:
$104,000 - $201,000
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or other relevant field plus two or more years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
Qualifications We Desire:
- Two or more years of experience developing software solutions and leveraging modern tools to implement and sustain software.
- Two or more years managing client relationships and developing feasibility studies to meet complex needs.
- Active DOE Q-level clearance or equivalent.
- Experience in managing and developing software in highly regulated or secure environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL and service management methodologies.
- Superb communication skills and ability to lead projects with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to present and influence technical solutions across functions and peer groups.
- Experience in conducting user studies to extract and identify needs and translating into technical requirements.
- Ability to design solutions involving multiple technology domains.
About Our Team:
Mission Computing Solutions provides IT resources and expertise to mission organizations, enterprise, and operations to identify and understand current and future IT requirements through end-to-end solutions within our division. Our team strategically partners with mission personnel and customers to identify and prepare IT solutions so the mission may continue focusing on high priority work without delays. We focus on the mission-specific needs of the various programs across the division and provide personnel who have significant knowledge of the Sandia environment as well as the IT skillset to support their mission essential needs.

Security Clearance:
