Welcome to theCleveland Clinic- Main CampusG70 Hematology and Oncology Unit. Our caregiversfocuseson the diagnoses and treatment of various malignancies and hematologic diseases, from new diagnosis to the end of life. The dedicated caregivers on this unit provide the highest quality, safest care to adult patients receiving chemotherapy, targeted cancer therapies, radioactiveiodineand other types of radiation therapies. G70 has a positive, team-orientedand supportive culture with daily 7am huddles for both the night shift and day shift to start/end their shift with an optimistic mindset. Within six months ofstarting onthis unit, nurses can become “chemo-competent” and become experts at administering chemotherapy and understanding chemotherapy reactions.
As a New Grad RN Resident, you will work with fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed.
A caregiver in this position worksday/night rotation| 7:00am—7:30pm or 7:00pm—7:30am.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
Provide direct nursing care alongside asuccesscoach.
Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patientpreferenceand resource availability).
Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
Seek supervision,consultationandassistancewhen unable to perform safely and independently.
Documentinpatients’ medical records.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma,ADNor BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross
New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’sof Science in Nursing (BSN)
Physical Requirements:
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $35.50
Maximum hourly: $55.60
The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
