Summary

The Department of Pathology & Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine, in partnership with Texas Children’s Hospital, seeks a Research Coordinator III. Texas Children's Hospital has established a large pediatric biobank in which patient samples are collected and banked to support future multi-omic and translational research. We are seeking a Research Coordinator III to support participant-facing research activities for the biobank. This position assists with recruitment, informed consent, study coordination, and data management in accordance with approved protocols and institutional policies. The Research Coordinator III works under the direction of Biobank leadership and senior research staff. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to pediatric research within a collaborative and mission-driven environment.

Job Duties

  • Screens potential research participants and enrolls participants in accordance with IRB-approved protocols. Ensures participant understanding and adherence to study requirements. 25%
  • Collaborate with site staff to implement and track subject recruitment strategies that align with project timelines and enrollment goals 10%
  • Deliver protocol and study-specific training to site personnel and maintain consistent communication to manage expectations and resolve issues. 10%
  • Monitor study progress by tracking regulatory submissions, subject enrollment, case report form (CRF) completion, and resolution of data queries. 10%
  • Establishes and maintains study files and participant records in accordance with institutional and regulatory standards. 25%
  • May collect samples from participants or coordinate sample handoff in accordance with protocol requirements. 10%
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned. 10%

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience obtaining informed consent and enrolling participants in research studies.
  • Familiarity with REDCap, EPIC, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Prior experience with IRB submissions.
  • Completion of CITI training or similar research compliance coursework.

Work Authorization Requirement:
