Job Description
Summary of PositionA full-time, nine-month tenure-track faculty position which provides instruction to undergraduate and graduate nursing students, with a primary focus on medical-surgical nursing and additional specialty areas such as pediatrics, obstetrics, and mental health. Teaches in classroom, clinical, laboratory, and simulation settings; facilitates student learning through evidence-based instructional strategies; and manages student coursework and communication through online learning platforms. Develops and maintains an active program of scholarship that contributes to the advancement of the discipline, including conducting research, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, pursuing external funding opportunities, and disseminating findings through professional presentations. Also participates in service activities that support the mission of the department, college, and university, such as mentoring students, contributing to curriculum development, and engaging with the professional community. Maintains an active research agenda with demonstrated progression. Engages in research-related professional development and works toward dissemination through presentations and peer-reviewed publication.

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, and the possibility of some weekend days.

Qualifications and Competencies
Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: Unencumbered Ohio Registered Nurse license (RN) by the time of appointment.
Minimum Qualifications: PhD in related health field, EdD, or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Master of Nursing (MSN) from an accredited college or university; evidence of scholarly activity (e.g., peer-reviewed publications, presentations, or research dissemination); at least two years of experience as a registered nurse working in medical-surgical area; and an unencumbered Ohio RN license.
Preferred Qualifications: One or more years of teaching experience in an accredited nursing program. Experience securing or contributing to externally funded grants. Experience teaching graduate-level coursework. Experience serving on thesis or dissertation committees. Experience in pediatrics, obstetrics, and/or mental health. Certified Nurse Education Certification.
