City of Hope is seeking an experienced HVAC Facilities Mechanic with background in healthcare, commercial, and/or industrial settings. As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Independently perform complex repairs on HVAC systems and related components.

  • Troubleshoot HVAC issues that impact patient care areas, prioritizing critical services.

  • Perform diagnostics and advanced repairson Air-handlers, Package units, VFDs, and BMS-controlled equipment.

  • Respond to service requests and work ordersfor patient care areas, labs, and support departments.

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenanceon building HVAC systems & components.

  • Document work in the CMMS/Nuvolo system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Balance and calibrate airflow, hydronic, and pressurization systemsto meet patient care requirements.

  • Manage critical environments(ORs, isolation rooms, pharmacies under USP 797/800).

  • Experienced with troubleshooting BMS controls (Siemens, Climatec, Trane, etc.).

  • Oversee vendor-performed maintenanceon large scale air-handlers, fan walls, mini splits, package units.

  • Ensure regulatory compliancefor HVAC systems (temperature, humidity, pressurization logs).

Your qualifications should include:

  • High School Diploma required. 4 additional years of experience plus the minimum experience requirement may substitute for minimum education (College or Trade school preferred).

  • 5 or more years applicable crafts experience. At least 2 years experience in HVAC, electrical, autoclave, locksmith, plumbing, advanced carpentry, or advanced painting trades.

  • Certification or demonstrated proficiency in 3 or more trades. At least one trade must include HVAC, electrical, autoclave, plumbing, locksmith, advanced carpentry, advanced painting. Other eligible trades include carpentry, painting, Maintenance Repair Rounds (MR.R) or automotive mechanics.

  • Trade certification preferred.

  • Excellent communications skills in working with clinical staff, leaders, and vendors.

  • Current CA driver's license and a good driving record.

Additional Information:

This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement.

City of Hope employees pay is based on the following criteria: work experience, qualifications, and work location.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $30.86 - $46.30 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
