What Your Job Will Be Like:
Organization 03733, Acute Care, is currently seeking an Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic to join their team!
The selected candidate will provide emergency medical care to members of the workforce, through the clinical services organization. They will also utilize their knowledge and experience with emergency medical care by providing advanced life support to patients, conducting and interpreting electrocardiograms and electrical interventions to support the cardiac functions, perform advanced endotracheal intubations, and administer appropriate intravenous fluids and drugs, under the direction of a designated physician.
On any given day, one may be called upon to:
- Transport patients to local hospitals for follow-up treatment
- Perform related medical tasks in the Acute Care Clinic, including administering allergy shots and triaging urgent care clinic patients
- Monitor, stock, and order for ambulances and the clinic supply
- Act as an EMS Standby as needed, including evenings and weekends
- Organize and lead training classes in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and/or other education areas as needed.
- Participate in clinical and EMS audits
- Provide out of state EMS support at the clinical site in Nevada on a rotating schedule
- Support other job-related duties as requested
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Monthly travel to Nevada is required for this position.
Salary Range:
$62,400 - $120,400
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
- A High School diploma, plus 3 years related experience in healthcare; or equivalent experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job
- A Current/Active Paramedic Licensure
- The ability to acquire and maintain certifications in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and any other certifications required by the facility
- The ability to acquire and maintain National Registry and Nevada License within 12 months of hire to support Nevada site
- The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
Position Information:
This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.
Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
