Job Description
Summary
The Texas Heart Institute at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a vascular sonographer to join its Center for Cardiovascular Care. The ideal candidate will have experience with endovenous procedures. Working as part of the high-volume cardiovascular diagnostics team, the candidate will be able to work indepently to provide world-class diagnostic testing to patients with complex vascular disease.
Job Duties
- Prepares and updates patients' medical records.
- Ensures that the lab, examination rooms, tools, and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained.
- Prepares patients for ultrasound examinations.
- Operates and maintains ultrasound and plethysmography equipment.
- Performs sonographic examinations on patients to develop vascular images.
- Generates analyzes reports and documentation from sonogram results.
- Assists physicians with reviewing and interpreting ultrasound images.
- Communicates and explains sonography examinations and results to patients.
- Performs administrative tasks such as managing patient schedules and filing diagnostic reports.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree from an accredited training program through an accredited institution.
- No experience required.

Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) with the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of relevant experience.
