Summary
The Section of Immunology Allergy & Rheumatology in the Department of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston is seeking board certified/eligible Rheumatologists to join our academic practice. We seek clinicians and clinical-educators at the level of assistant or associate professor to join our expanding clinical practice. Individuals with strong clinical skills, a genuine commitment to education, and the skills to potentially establish clinical research immunologic diseases are encouraged to apply. The BCM Section of IAR has a total of 21 faculty with clinical practices at Baylor Clinic, CHI Baylor St Luke's Medical Center, the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, Harris Health Clinic and Ben Taub Hospital. We also have an ACGME approved adult rheumatology fellowship training program and multiple research programs in autoimmune, inflammatory and rheumatic diseases. Rank and tenure status are dependent upon qualifications. The applicant is expected to fulfill the academic and clinical missions of Baylor College of Medicine.
Job Responsibilities
Direct patient care-outpatient clinics at Baylor Medicine and Harris Health Community Clinic and inpatient consult service in affiliate hospitals. Does not require research responsibilities but encouraged. Renewing and meeting all required licenses and certification requirements. Familiarize with EPIC- electronic medical records and document all patient encounters as needed. Complete all documentation in a timely manner so that billing and other administrative tasks can happen smoothly to ensure a robust operational system. Maintaining credentialing at all times to ensure practice is not disrupted.
Minimum Qualifications
The candidate should be an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. with interests in clinical rheumatology andimmunology, and teaching.
