Overview
Saint Mary's College seeks to hire a per-course adjunct faculty member to teach KINES 524: Human Motor Performanc (3 credit course) in the Graduate Kinesiology Program in Fall 2025.
Thursdays: 6:00 - 9:00pm
This course will meet in person on the Moraga campus.
The Master of Arts in Kinesiology program at Saint Mary's College focuses on the study of human beings engaged in physical activity. It is designed to ensure that graduate students are exposed to the breadth and depth of classical and contemporary knowledge in the component areas of the field while taking advantage of the finest things about Saint Mary's College (e.g., an interest in the student as a person and an emphasis on shared inquiry and critical thinking). Students select a concentration that fits best with their personal and professional goals: Sport Studies, Sport Management, or Fitness Management, and complete the program in 14 to 26 months.

Responsibilities
The course will examine the processes that govern movement skill acquisition and control in order to provide students with a foundation for the development of effective instructional strategies that facilitate learning, performance and control of motor skills.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will hold a terminal degree in Kinesiology or a closely related field and have a recent publication record in the field, or a Master's degree in Kinesiology or a closely related field and have at least five years of current, relevant professional experience. Demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the graduate level as evidenced by recent course evaluations is strongly preferred. Candidates should be comfortable supporting and working in a multi-cultural environment.
Candidates must reside in California.
Salary: $7,447 - $10,308 depending on qualifications.
The salary range for this position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
