Summary
The Division of Neurology and Developmental Neuroscience in the Department of Pediatrics, Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) is recruiting a Child Neurologist for its Neurocritical Care Program. The academic appointment at Assistant Professor (tenure track), will be in the Section of Pediatric Neurology & Developmental Neuroscience of the Department of Pediatrics, Baylor College of Medicine.
The current Neurocritical Care Program is composed of nine child neurologists that provide neurocritical care consultations to the various ICU beds at TCH including a dedicated 14 bed Neuro-ICU, a dedicated Cardiovascular ICU, and various subspecialty ICUs. The Neuro-ICU is a collaborative venture among Critical Care Medicine, Neurology and Neurosurgery and is specifically designed for continuous EEG monitoring, with an embedded epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU). A fellowship in Neurocritical Care is a prerequisite for this position and additional training in a related specialty, such as vascular disease or epilepsy/clinical neurophysiology, is also desirable. Night and weekend call is also required. Participation in the post-ICU Neurologic follow-up program, the Multidisciplinary Intensive Care Neurology and Developmental (MIND) Clinic is also required. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience.
Position Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: M.D. or equivalent.
- Minimum Certification/Licensure: Licensed by the Texas Medical Board; obtainable upon hire offer
- Board certified/eligible in Child Neurology
