Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:The primary responsibility is teaching undergraduate courses including CH 120 Essentials of Chemistry, CH 123 Chemistry I, CH 126 Chemistry II, and related laboratories. There is also the option of teaching upper-level chemistry courses given the experience of the applicant and scheduling needs of the program.
Beginning in the second year, the new colleague will be expected to assume the role of “Course Coordinator” for Chemistry I and II, providing leadership in developing curriculum and assessment with faculty who teach those courses.
Responsibilities will include teaching up to 15 credit hours per semester depending on commitments to service and mentoring undergraduate research.
QUALIFICATIONS:
M.S. or Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry or a closely related field is expected by the start date. The candidate should have completed at least 18 credit hours of graduate-level chemistry courses.
Experience teaching college-level chemistry is preferred, but not required.
COMPENSATION:
Salary: $50,000-$60,000 annually.
Qualifications and previous experience will be considered for placement of base rank and salary.
