As a successful candidate, you will:

Coordinates and oversees the efforts to design, budget and implement the defined solution for all new and existing technical infrastructure projects. Will document technical workflows, including data lifecycles, business value and impact, and maintenance and support operational guides. Manages one to twenty projects annually (at least one being a larger scale enterprise system); works to define infrastructure solutions to meet business, biomedical and scientific requirements.

  • Supports three to ten Research application systems principally hosted on Citrix or Windows workstation environments.
  • Manages multiple systems projects simultaneously to include preparing project plans, allocating resources, prioritizing projects and maintaining communication regarding project status.
  • Manages all phases in development and maintenance of technical infrastructure systems from requirements and design to post implementation.
  • Communicates technical aspects and applications to non-technical professionals and stakeholders such as relates to Client Server environments using Windows, Unix, Web, load balancing and virtualization, etc.
  • Acts as user liaison between project stakeholders, vendors and Information Systems technical services. Conducts meetings with users to determine business requirements. Interacts with Principal Investigators, directors and different levels of management to capture and organize information needed to develop new computing systems and project deployment oversight.
  • Develops detailed system design which support system requirements. Conducts technical reviews and walkthroughs of system design documentation with development and design team members. Reviews and critiques the technical documentation of other systems to assure quality products.
  • Leads project development of systems infrastructure and manual procedures necessary to support departmental and enterprise system design.
  • Provides support for designated application systems. Oversees the design, development and implementation of enhancements to existing systems.
  • Ensures adherence to company standards throughout the system life-cycle; considers regulatory compliance issues as applicable.
  • Remains knowledgeable of information technology and company business operations. Recommends the implementation of technology to support the company's objectives.(workflow analysis and technical requirements/impact)
  • Ensures provision of software tools for technical staff job duty performance. Interfaces with designated software vendor personnel to recommend and coordinate various changes and resolutions to technical incident events and enhancement requests.
  • Provides direction and oversight to technical staff. Assists staff in developing solutions to problems as necessary.
  • Monitors the work of contract employees or contractors with respect to scope, milestones and sign off of completion.
  • Maintains and promotes open communications with the team members and leadership. Keeps management informed of project activities. Present status updates to departmental, stakeholder and executive leadership. Provides monthly and ad-hoc status reports to management utilizing tools of designated systems
  • Maintains professional growth and development and keeps abreast of latest trends in area of expertise.
  • Attends meetings as required, and participates on committees as directed.
  • Maintains a positive image when dealing with department personnel and other City of Hope employees.
  • Analyzes user-reported problems to determine corrective action.
  • Performs Systems Analyst duties and responsibilities as needed.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline
  • Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements
  • Five years information technology/project management experience in a dynamic fast paced business environment.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $41.92 - $64.97 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
