Job Description
Moffitt Cancer Center seeks to recruit PRN Social Worker to support our Outpatient areas. Our Social Workers are a hallmark of our dedication to Patient- and Family- Centered Care. The Ideal Candidate:
- At least one year experience in social work is preferred.
- Previous experience or internship in medical or psychiatric social work is preferred.
- One year post MSW experience is highly preferred and regular supervision is based on experience and licensure status per social work ladder document and educational needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provides clinical social work services to and in partnership with patients, families, and significant others. These include social work assessments, counseling, goal setting, advocacy, concrete service provision and implementation of care plans.
- Makes referrals to outside agencies and assists in the coordination of continuity of care. Works collaboratively with and provides leadership within the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
- Social Worker shall be highly knowledgeable about the psychosocial impact of disease on individuals and families as it relates to their age and stage of development.
- Will seek mentorship for professional growth and development.
Credentials and Qualifications:
- MSW from a CSWE approved school.
- Eligibility for licensure in the State of FL as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker is required. Employee must register with the Board of Clinical Social Work as a "provisional clinical social worker licensee" or as a "registered clinical social work intern" or submitted application to the state of Florida, if a recent graduate, within 3 months of hire.
- We will consider for LCSW, if currently licensed in the State of Florida and have two years of experience. Would prefer minimum of one year in oncology social work.
- If from out of state, LCSW from that state is required and must be eligible for FL licensure.
