Job Description

The Sr. Manager, Trade Operations Support leads a team responsible for the oversight of multiple US/PR Trade Operations platform functions, including Serialization support, EDI, Material Master Data, backorder management, US Price Management, and SAP enhancements for the Pfizer US Pharmaceutical Trade Operations Customer Service organization.  This colleague will work closely with Pfizer’s Trade Operations Customer Service, Global Supply, DC Operations, Serialization Team, and our SAP and Digital business partners to effectively meet the needs of Pfizer’s business operations and our direct pharmaceutical trade customers.  This position requires the ability to work within and across the organization at multiple levels to drive change. This position requires knowledge of SAP to drive strategies around system and process enhancements to support business objectives while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.  This position will provide operational direction around Pfizer’s serialization and traceability solutions as well as support project implementation plans. This position will work closely with the Director, Operational Excellence to ensure Pfizer is aligned with industry peers and customer capabilities in support of our Serialization compliance roadmap.  The position requires external interactions and will represent Pfizer’s views on industry matters and work groups related to supply chain security (serialization and traceability) with peer companies, trade customers and solution providers within the U.S. market. This position requires a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical trade channel customers, business drivers, and operating environment, including GS1 standards which will be leveraged for future business requirements.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide strategic direction to enhance the US Trade Operations team’s ability to achieve business objectives by developing and growing business partnerships, enhancing systems (including SAP and associated edge systems), improving processes, and understanding the needs of internal and external customers.

  • Works across all pharmaceutical US market operating segments to identify future business needs requiring SAP and operations support. Work collaboratively to gain alignment and ensure Trade operating plans and budgets support agreed upon goals.

  • Actively participate and provide strategic US market  direction on SAP’s global community of practices forums, global master data forums and any other such on-going forum or limited duration team impacting US Trade Operations.

  • Leads, manages or participates on various trade operational/business optimization initiatives and sub-teams, including the coordination and project outcome for projects related to master data, serialization, system enhancements and other complex initiatives within Trade Operations.

  • Provide strategic US market direction around Pfizer’s serialization and traceability solutions as well as supports the operational implementation and ongoing maintenance of systems and processes to ensure compliance with the US Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA),.

  • Lead internal and external work efforts as necessary to advance Pfizer supply chain security strategies and drive industry alignment.

  • Provide periodic updates to U.S. business unit (BU) leaders and others keeping them apprised of evolving supply chain security mandates, impact to the business and efforts to ensure our compliance.

  • Work collaboratively with the Trade Leadership Team and other key colleagues to identify process gaps and improvement concepts across the business to enhance business value and ROI.

  • Provide strategic direction for Pfizer’s US Price Management system, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution.

  • Be a passionate advocate, leader and driver of efforts that ensure accurate material master data, and the alignment and adoption of industry standards and guidelines (e.g. GS1, ISO, HDA Bar Code, etc.) within Pfizer. 

  • Lead colleague(s) responsible for the effective management of Pfizer Branded products in short supply, including monitoring of inventory, release of backorders, and distribution of Pfizer’s weekly internal and external product status report.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 7+ years’ experience, including people management

  • Exceptional knowledge of Customer Service & Supply Chain

  • Experience with SAP’s ECC ERP system, including enhancement management & EDI

  • Highly Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to handle competing priorities and ability to perform under pressure, with a bias for action

  • Demonstrated strong decision-making skills and an ability to understand complex processes and systems and their inter-relation across an organization

  • Strong communication skills as well as an ability to interact effectively with customers, peers, and cross-divisional leadership

  • Individual must have strong consultation, project management and relationship building skills and a proven track record of leading diverse cross-functional teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters Degree

  • Experience with SAP integrations and upgrades

  • Experience with serialization and/or DSCSA

  • Experience with SAP’s ATTP/ICH module

  • Experience with GS1’s data share standard EPCIS

  • Experience with reporting systems, including SAP’s Business Intelligence and/or Business Objects

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $131,200.00 to $218,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
