As an EKG Technician, your primary duties will include:
• Performing EKG diagnostics on patients and recording results.
• Giving patient instructions prior to procedure and reviewing records.
• Monitoring patients during procedures and reporting abnormal findings.
• Performing edits and forwarding results to physicians for analysis.
• Maintaining upkeep of EKG equipment and supplies.

• Has experience with inpatients/ICU and performing EKGs or has a current EKG training certificate.

Responsibilities:
- Performs 12-lead electrocardiograms and other noninvasive cardiology exams as ordered by the physician.
- Performs graded exercise tests and radioisotope stress tests under the supervision of the physician when applicable.
- Performs ambulatory monitoring procedures and event recording procedures.
- Participates in medical emergencies in the Clinic.
- Performs pacemaker and ICD evaluations when applicable. Learns operation of new equipment and technology.
- Maintains complete and up-to-date documentation and file at all times, including product and service quotes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Six months basic ECG training with Arrhythmia knowledge from an accredited school.
Certifications:
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Work Experience:
- Six months experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, physicians and other health care workers.
- Ability to empathize with patients and families.
Physical Requirements:
- Essential Duties: Interact with Patients, families, physicians and other health care workers. Good hand coordination for positioning of electrodes and equipment. Good vision to analyze computer screens and graph recordings to diagnose test results. Use good judgment in stressful emergency situations. Adequate mathematics skills to maintain accurate records and reports.
- Physical Duties: Moderate lifting and positioning of patients. Moderate pushing and pulling equipment.
- Working Conditions: 100% air-conditioned. Minimal risk of exposure to blood borne pathogens.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
