Job Description

Summary

The Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Research Technician II to perform the routine elements of research work that requires the use of skills, technical and academic knowledge to follow established procedures and record results. The Research Technician II will be motivated, organized, and team-oriented who is comfortable working in a lab setting.
 

Job Duties

  • Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments, produces reliable consistent data and analyzes data. 
  • Works with mice.
  • Conducts literature searches related to experiment conduct and presents and records data in order to support research related decision making.
  • Reports accurately and documents all results of experiments.
  • Evaluates constantly the success of experiments to improve lab related processes.
  • Orders supplies as needed.
  • Interfaces with clinical providers - nurses, doctors.
  • Works with members of the clinical research team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.
