Responsibilities
The Miller Lab is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a position of a staff scientist interested in proteomics and data science. The Miller Lab is based in the Aging & Metabolism Research Program and studies proteostatic regulation in aging skeletal muscle and other tissues with a particular focus on mitochondria. The Miller Lab collaborates with many investigators throughout the country on studies using stable isotopic labeling. The lab also is a core in the National Institute on Aging (NIA)-funded Oklahoma Nathan Shock Center for the basic biology of aging. Primary responsibilities include sample preparation, data analysis, coding, and interpretation of proteomic data. The position is available immediately and will remain open until filled.


Qualifications
M.S. or Ph.D. at the time of the appointment.  The successful candidate must have at least one year of hands-on experience in proteomics or other ‘omic’ technology. This candidate will also have hands-on wet-lab experience working with various tissues, experience with mass-spectrometry data, and bioinformatic analysis. The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
