Responsibilities
Assist Facility Services and Scientific Instruments Services teams including but not limited to:
  • cleaning up and organizing mechanical areas and other work areas
  • assembling and moving furniture and equipment
  • assisting with renovations
  • assisting skilled tradespeople with various projects, performing some maintenance, minor carpentry, and light repairs, perform handyman duties such as hanging pictures, shelving, and minor repairs
  • assisting and/or covering leave as needed on dock and mailroom receiving and delivering packages
  • assisting with event set-up, cleanup and other preparations
  • assisting security during events and/or on special occasions
  • assisting with inclement weather and/or emergency tasks such as snow removal
  • picking up trash and maintaining grounds around the dock as needed


Qualifications
High school diploma/GED and 1 year of maintenance or handyman-like experience or combination of education and experience.Must be super organized self-starters who are customer service oriented and safety conscious. Must work well as a team player, contribute to team objectives, and operate independently. Must demonstrate ability to follow instructions precisely, take initiative to find problem solutions as independently as possible, and communicate clearly verbally and in writing. The ability to read and understand documents and instructions, perform work accurately and safely required. Must have ability to lift, push, pull, and carry objects up to 75 lbs with or without accommodations.
