We want you to join our team as the MammographyTechnologist.This position is responsible for overseeing general day-to-day operations in our Mammography sector of the Imaging Department at City of Hope Phoenix. As the Mammographer you will be part of the Breast Team providing professional and compassionate care. Day to day operations include full scope diagnostic imaging, wire free localizations, stereotactic biopsies, and breast navigation. while practicing high level mammography and procedures at the site. You will also perform imaging procedures which may include screening mammography, DEXA, and xray/portables/fluoro. The Mammography position is a highly rewarding role that makes an impact in women’s lives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures for patients utilizing Hologic’s Selenia Dimensions 3D digital mammography system.
  • Assist Radiologist with Stereotactic biopsies with Hologic Affirm Upright Breast Biopsy Guidance System, ATEC, and Trident.
  • Assist Radiologist with wire free localizations using Scout deployment.
  • Use independent judgment during biopsy procedures, examinations and localizations. Must be able to troubleshoot complicated cases and think outside of the box.
  • Plan, organize, supervise, and train the day-to-day activities and duties of the Mammography team with little or no supervision in a fast paced environment.
  • Monitor and improve services provided by the team. Update policies and practices to improve overall performance. Implement changes as needed, ensuring patient safety and appropriate procedure times.
  • Communicate effectively with patients thoroughly explaining imaging procedures, answering any questions they have at the time of the study, obtain and complete history and inquire about prior imaging at outside facilities and provide clear and concise post examination instructions.
  • Review studies for overall diagnostic image quality; ensure all images are included in the study. Post process images utilizing RIS/PACS completing examination, providing exam specific indications, patient history.
  • Provide patients with any necessary post biopsy information. Follow up with patients as necessary.
  • Perform ALL MQSA required QC. Maintain all QC records. Responsible for contacting field service engineers and physicist for required minor maintenance as necessary. Log problems and call appropriate contact for service as needed.
  • Interact with management, staff, and radiologists in a professional and collaborative manner. Act as liaison between technologists, ultrasound techs, clinic teams, and Oncologists and Physicians.
  • Respect and guard the confidentiality of patients; comply with all HIPPA regulations.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Graduate or equivalent

Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA approved school

Licensure: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (R)(M)

Registered by the Medical Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (MRTBE) in Radiography and Mammography

Certification: Basic Life Support (CPR)

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $31.90 - $52.55 / hour
