Job Description

"Join Our Research Team - Postdoctoral and Visiting Scholar positions are available at Dr. Fata Moradali’s laboratory at University of Louisville.

Dr. Moradali’s lab is dedicated to the exploration of host-pathogen interactions, with a specific emphasis on pathogenic anaerobes inducing gum inflammation, also implicating their role in systemic inflammatory diseases. Our research delves into the pathoadaptive mechanisms that sustain adverse interactions between anaerobic oral pathogens and host cells, culminating in chronic gum tissue inflammation.
We specifically investigate the structure and impact of key immunostimulants and signaling components produced by periodontal pathogens on the function of innate immune cells and non-immune cells at the molecular and cellular levels. Leveraging system-based and interdisciplinary approaches, along with innovative technical developments, we aim to unravel the complexity of molecular and cellular interactions. In this pursuit, we welcome dedicated individuals eager to learn various techniques and contribute their expertise to our projects.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in microbiology, molecular biology, immunology, organic chemistry, or a related field, accompanied by relevant technical and laboratory experiences. Proficiency in statistical analysis and familiarity with animal models is advantageous. Effective collaboration within research projects, robust teamwork skills, and excellent communication abilities are integral. We actively encourage the presentation and recommendation of novel ideas for our ongoing research pursuits. Interested candidates are welcome to submit their CVs to: fata.moradali@louisville.edu
