Job Description
Role Summary
Reporting to the People Experience Director, the Senior Associate, Communications and Engagement is responsible for leading and executing day-to-day site communication activities and key elements related to defining paths for effective implementation of the site communications strategy.
Role Responsibilities
Manage execution of key elements of site communication strategy
Manage implementation of specific site communication projects and workstreams as part of long-term site communication strategy that keeps site personnel informed, motivated and engaged
Monitor and analyze metrics to support identification of continuous improvement opportunities
Management of day-to-day Communications Activities:
Develop content for regular and ad hoc site communications needs to a busy manufacturing site of over 1,500 colleagues and contractors including site homepage, virtual and in-person town halls, site newsletters, digital communication boards, signage, visuals/posters, internal social media, etc.
Independently manage and execute site content calendar
Support site leader in writing and editing weekly message (both written and video)
Leverage graphic design knowledge to drive consistency in visual branding across site in line with Pfizer/PGS branding initiatives
Develop highly visual communications for use in site branding, process or compliance signage, site posters, etc.
Provide counsel, guidance and tools to senior leadership, managers and colleagues regarding best practices in communicating with employees to improve productivity and performance
Work in conjunction with community manager and digital for timely information related to events and engagement activities
Support crisis communication efforts as needed
Partner with and influence key stakeholders to support effective communication of key projects, issues or changes impacting site colleagues:
Engage, advise, influence and support department staff on effective communication strategies related to site projects or site-specific communication needs, considering audience, messaging, impact, and channel considerations
Represent Sanford as part of the PGS Communicators Network, and applicable limited duration teams, and identify opportunities to align site and network communication efforts
Assist with execution of site events and celebrations
Act as key communicator for site diversity, equity and inclusion events and activities
Assist with site community giving activities in line with site strategy for community engagement
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or related discipline preferred
Bachelor’s degree with three years of relevant business/agency communication experience; OR a Master’s degree with one year of relevant experience; OR an Associate's degree with six years of relevant experience; OR eight years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent
Expertise in communication disciplines including internal communication and executive communication ideas and new approaches to solve communication challenges
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and assignments
Strong ability to manage relationships
Ability to counsel and influence different levels across the organization, from entry level to senior leaders
Strong project management skills
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, multicultural and diverse environment
