ROLE SUMMARY

The Financial Analyst role based in Sanford, NC is a position within PGS finance.  The responsibilities of this position include product cost development, production and material variance analysis, inventory reporting and analysis, month-end closing journal entries, and account reconciliations. 

The role includes interactions with senior finance professionals and various business partners.  This interaction includes assisting partners with understanding comprehensive budget issues and learning about different aspects within site operations.

The role will interact with the CoE and GFS accounting organizations on process improvements and compliance.  Finally, presentations of financial information are required for this role.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop product cost standards from the budgeting process and prepare inventory revaluation

• Perform monthly cost accounting close procedures including variance analysis and required journal entries in SAP

• Monthly variance analysis to assist production management in monitoring efficiency of their operations

• Prepare quarterly alcohol tax drawback filings with the bureau of alcohol, tobacco and firearms (ATF)

• Maintain, track and review movement and disposition of product inventories

• Oversee cycle count process for inventory including variance analysis and reconciliation

• Prepare account reconciliations

• Interactions with GFS/CoE colleagues on best practices for inventory reporting and variance analysis

• Partner with and provide financial support for business leaders in order to understand business needs and translate to financial performance

• Identify financial team process improvements and implement changes

• Assist the finance team in being compliant with all SOX controls and financial reporting policies

• Participate in strategic planning and the development of the annual operating plan and monthly forecasts

• Strong Communication and Presentation Skill

• Ability to work in a team setting and meet establish deadlines

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required: Undergraduate Degree from an Accredited University with 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience

  • Preferred: Degree in Accounting or Finance from accredited university

  • Required: Strong Excel and Power Point Skills

  • MBA, CPA, or CMA a plus

  • Be able to perform complex data analysis

  • Able to foster strong relationships with business partners

  • Able to build and implement process improvements

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

• Less than 10% travel

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to perform mathematical calculations and ability to perform complex data analysis.
