Job Description
Summary
Full-time research technician position opening in lab studying mechanisms of obesity and type 2 diabetes. Our lab currently utilizes methods ranging in areas from molecular biology to whole-animal physiology. Training for all techniques and computer programs will be provided. Job Duties
- Works with mice and cell cultures as research models.
- Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments, such as genotyping, cell culture, RT-PCR, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, western blotting, etc.
- Documents results accurately of all the experiments.
- Compiles and analyzes data.
- Oversees the maintenance of laboratory environment and supplies.
- Maintains mouse colonies, and performs experiments on mice.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science degree is a plus.
- Solid background of knowledge in the fields of biochemistry, molecular biology, nutrition, and physiology.
- Laboratory experience is desirable.
- Knowledge of research methods and procedures.
- Flexibility and adaptability in work schedule.
