Job Description
Summary
The Division of Neonatology within the Department of Pediatrics is looking to hire a Research Nurse II who works well in a fast-paced setting. This position will be located within Texas Children's Hospital.
Job Duties
- Works with research faculty to order labs per study sample collections.
- Adheres to the scope of practices as defined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
- Participate in recruitment/enrollment of study subjects, monitoring of lab samples and assisting with NICU-related research functions.
- Works in coordination with Research Coordinator team members on assigned research data collection.
- Collects study specimens and check subjects’ vital signs, perform measurements, administer medications.
- Maintains patient charts and medical records.
- Monitors and schedules weekly labs/sample collection.
- Assists with supply inventory and ordering for research.
- May assist or collaborate on the development of clinical trials.
- Participates in training and provides guidance to research nurses and other research personnel, serving as a resource to staff.
- Assists in creating a positive work environment that promotes productivity, teamwork, and cooperation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Two years of relevant experience as a licensed Registered Nurse (RN).
- Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
