The primary purpose of this Research Technician III position is to carry out various supervised animal research projects, maintain a mouse colony, and coordinate lab supply maintenance and ordering. The ideal candidate will have experience with mice. The lab studies retinal biology and the ideal candidate will have experience in this or related fields.
Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments.
Collects, compiles and analyzes data
Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
Documents results of experiments.
Selects, evaluates and applies techniques used in routine research.
Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.
Learn and become proficient with techniques related to retinal dissection, retinal histology, mouse vision testing, and retinal cell culture.
Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
One year of relevant related experience.
