Job DescriptionThe Adelman lab in the Department of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Harvard Medical School seeks an Epigenomics Specialist to probe gene dysregulation in cancer cells, using cutting edge epigenomic and transcriptomic approaches.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic research team, performing both wet- laboratory experiments and bioinformatic analysis of genomic data sets. Projects will involve exposure to state-of-the art approaches such as PRO-seq, rapid protein degradation using degron tags, and small molecule screens, as well as molecular biology techniques like genome engineering with CRISPR-Cas9, RT-qPCR and reporter assays, viability and proliferation assays. Experience with analysis of next-generation sequencing data, or familiarity with R or Python is a plus. Other responsibilities include careful record keeping and presenting research findings in manuscripts, posters and oral seminars.

The preferred candidate would possess:
• A PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology or a similar field
Additional preferred skills:
• 2-3 years of additional experience studying epigenetics or gene regulation
• Track record of independence in research projects
• Ability to work within a team environment
• Good presentation and written communication skills
• An interest in multidisciplinary research and therapeutics discovery
This is a 2-year term position from date of hire, with strong possibility of extension, contingent upon work performance and continued funding to support the position.
