Job DescriptionPostdoctoral fellow positions are available at Relica Genomics in Saskatoon Saskatchewan, Canada. Our laboratory is engaged in development of a chloroplast transformation platform of major cereal crops. At this time, we are specifically looking to develop novel plant lines for a variety of bioproducts that service the animal agriculture industry. Current projects are focusing on designing suitable transgenic constructs, developing tissue culture platforms in cereal crops, and evaluating mRNA and protein expression levels. Successful candidates will lead a team of several researchers, as well as taking part in designing experiments, optimizing protocols for tissue culture, evaluating transformation success, and ensuring project goals are achieved in a timely manner.
Straddling the South Saskatchewan River, Saskatoon is a modern, dynamic city of 250,000 with a flourishing downtown district and a diverse cultural community. Saskatoon is home to major academic and research facilities including Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada research station, the Plant Biotechnology Institute, the Canadian Light Source, and the University of Saskatchewan.
We seek talented, motivated candidates with a recent PhD and demonstrated experience with chloroplast engineering, plant tissue culture, and molecular biology.
