Summary

This position is a part-time position working approximately 20 hours per week fully dedicated to Dr. Rustveld' s CPRIT funded clinical research project on colorectal cancer screening and prevention. The fundamental role of this position is to provide support for the PI and Patient navigators on the project. Overall duties and responsibilities include data collection, and documentation of patient navigation data from a recently funded Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) project. This position requires an individual who is self-motivated, and has the ability to effectively communicate via phone and email. 

Job Duties

•    Provides support to project patient navigators for BCM and Nacogdoches project members throughout the project such as chart abstraction of cancer screening data. 
•    Extracts quality of colonoscopy preparation data (Boston scale score) from EPIC.
•    Maintains documentation of colorectal cancer screening follow-ups.
•    Maintains contact lists for outreach cancer prevention projects (ie. church groups and community service agencies).
•    Serves as contact for information on community outreach activities.
•    Orders supplies and equipment for the project (ie. FOBT test kits, etc). 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree.
  • Data entry experience and proficiency in the use of excel spreadsheets.
