Experimental work involves optical, electrical, and surface force measurements of novel soft materials in concert with materials synthesis and nanofabrication efforts.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Research activities will be closely supervised and will focus on the directed assembly of block copolymers, supramolecular materials, and other systems will hierarchical meso- and nano- scale structure, characterization of structure, fabrication and measurement of material properties, especially with respect to transport properties (mass, electron, ion) and the elucidation of structure function relationships.

This position will involve a considerable amount of experimental laboratory work and development of techniques. The work will require close coordination with ongoing efforts, as well as associated materials and characterization. The candidate is expected to think and work independently and conduct research in a highly interdisciplinary environment of physicists, materials scientists, and chemists.
