Job Summary/Basic Function:
This internship in the Arthritis & Clinical Immunology department will provide motivated students the opportunity to assist with clinical research studies directed towards understanding the mechanisms of autoimmunity. Duties may include study participant recruitment and screening, conduct of clinical research visits, and data collection and entry. OMRF is an independent, not-for-profit biomedical research institute adjacent to the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) campus in Oklahoma City. High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience. Must be seeking a degree in biological sciences or related field and have completed at least 36 hours of science course work. Strong computer skills are required. Excellent organization, oral and written communication skills are required. Must be professional, team oriented, and personable. Must be able to take direction, follow instructions and take meticulous records.
Minimum Degree Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Work Hours: Typically, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm. Summer positions typically are from the beginning of June to the end of July.
Strong interest in the pursuit of graduate level education in the biological sciences or medicine is preferred.
Regularly moves about the work environment, talks, hears and listens. Occasionally lifts or moves up to 10 pounds. Requires the ability to see. The noise level and typical work conditions are consistent with an office environment.
