Job Description

Moffitt Cancer Center’s Department of Diagnostic Imaging is expanding our faculty to meet substantial institutional growth and invites applications for the position of a Radiologist in Nuclear Medicine. A strong clinical background in cancer imaging is essential and a particular focus in PET/CT is preferred.


Moffitt’s Section of Nuclear Medicine in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging is a state-of-the-art facility performing large numbers of clinical and clinical research studies including general Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, and SPECT/CT Imaging. The imaging department has an extensive research program, including an animal PET/SPECT/CT scanner, led by Robert J. Gillies, Ph.D. The Imaging Research program includes 1400 sq ft of wet lab, a full animal imaging suite, and sophisticated image analytic and mathematical modeling capabilities. 



Applicants must have a Florida medical license or eligible for one, an M.D. degree or equivalent, have completed a one-year Nuclear Medicine fellowship, be ABR board-certified in Radiology and ABNM board-certified in Nuclear Medicine or CAQ in Nuclear Medicine.  Successful candidates must be an authorized user of radioisotopes with demonstrated theranostic experience.

Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, a US News top 10 cancer hospital and Florida’s only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, is a rapidly growing Center affiliated with the University of South Florida. The Cancer Center is comprised of a large ambulatory care facility, a 206-bed hospital, with a 36-bed blood and marrow transplant program, 20 state of the art operating suites, a 30-bed intensive care unit, a high volume screening program, and a basic science research facility. The Moffitt Research Institute (MRI) is comprised of approximately 160 Principal Investigators, 58 laboratories, and 306,000 square feet of research space.


          Faculty of the Moffitt Cancer Center are eligible for academic appointments at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. Academic rank is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
