Summary

Looking for a great opportunity to contribute to The Jackson Laboratory in our Bar Harbor, ME location managing the day-to-day operations of Materials Processing?

 

This role ensures efficient operations of materials and is responsible for analyzing process flows for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.  We’re seeking individuals that have an analytical mindset with strong technical and engineering knowledge, normally attained through a combination of higher education and biotech industry experience.  Leadership/mentoring of staff and the development, recruitment of a great team is key to success!

Responsibilities

  • Manages the operations of cleaning & sanitation of supplies/equipment, monitor supply and demand of materials; develops inventory management and control systems, Interface with vendors and service representatives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical equipment problems and take corrective action.
  • Develop and monitor expense budget for Operations processing.
  • Ensure ongoing staff development of a growing department. Perform/oversee the supervision of employee performance reviews, scheduling of daily workflow (including multiple shifts), corrective action process.
  • Manage and resolve human resource, employee and department safety risk and management issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • (5) years of progressively increasing responsibility in a supervisor role
  • (2) years of successful experience in pharmaceutical or manufacturing organization with experience of the methods, practices, techniques of product sanitation
  • Proficient ability using MS Word, Excel, Outlook and other database software for report activities
  • Ability to foster and maintain relationships with individuals representing a wide diversity of disciplines and levels of sophistication
  • Proven leadership ability to influence, develop, motivate and empower employees to achieve objectives with a team approach
  • Proven ability to make important decisions carrying large financial consequences, often under pressure and tight deadlines.
