Job Description

Laboratory work to develop, analyze, and run electrochemical tests on new materials for lithium-ion batteries. 

The Applied Materials Division is seeking a Postdoctoral Candidate to conduct general research in organic chemistry and electrochemistry related to new advanced materials for lithium-ion batteries. The selected individual will develop experimental methods and techniques to synthesize these new materials. This position will heavily involve electrochemical testing and analysis of these materials.

The candidate will design or modify laboratory procedures and protocols for organic materials synthesis, develop experimental designs, run technical experiments, make detailed observations, gather and analyze data, and effectively report information.

  • A degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Chemistry or related field with 0 to 2 years of experience.
  • Knowledge in the following areas: organic chemistry and synthesis, materials science, electrochemistry, lithium-ion batteries, battery electrochemistry,
  • Hands-on, practical laboratory experience with organic chemical processing, and analytical methods.
  • Hands-on, practical experience with battery electrochemical testing and analysis is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and on a timely basis with the laboratory supervisory personnel on all developments or matters resulting from laboratory work activities.
  • Ability to work with larger equipment or experience in large-scale synthesis.
  • Ability to maintain organized notebooks and project files.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • A high commitment to safety.
