Job Description

The Applied Materials Division is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to conduct general research on new battery materials, specifically new lithium-ion battery anodes. The candidate will develop, adopt or modify laboratory procedures and protocols for scale up of advanced materials manufacturing. With minimal assistance, the candidate will develop experimental designs, run technical experiments, make detailed observations, analyze data, record and interpret results, and effectively report information written and orally. 

  • This position requires a Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science, or a related field with 0 to 3 years of experience.

  • Experience in electrochemical cell building, testing, and analysis.

  • Experience with anode materials synthesis, processing, and testing/evaluation.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain organized notebooks and project files.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • A high commitment to safety.
