The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an IT Technician 5 for the Office of Information Technology (OIT) – Enterprise Endpoint Management. **This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding.** The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and consulting with department lab managers in building, maintaining, and supporting student funded general access computer areas and OIT managed labs around campus. The position will design, install, configure, and administrator public workstation, maintain a list of all campus open computer lab resources and contact information, and administer hardware and software support tools (i.e. LabStats, DeepFreeze, Windows updates, etc.). The IT Technician will work with other OIT and Distributed IT staff and vendors on all computer lab related projects and tickets including managing purchasing, inventory, and asset management. A successful candidate must be proactive, innovative and have the ability to effectively communicate with department heads and team members.
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two (2) years of IT work experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of network workstation hardware and software; OR one (1) year of relevant experience as an IT Technician 4 in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A valid Class “C” driver’s license or higher operator’s license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
Applicants with basic experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (Previously System Center Configuration Manager), JAMF, and Active Directory are encouraged to apply.
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
