The Research Scientist will manage the day-to-day routine operations of the Analytical and Biophysical Chemistry Core, holding primary responsibility for instrument qualification; workflow management; sample intake and preparation; sample analysis and data generation; participation in GlyCORE investigator training; initial data analysis and preparation of client reports; dissemination of the Analytical and Biophysical Core capabilities to the University of Mississippi and regional research community; and interfacing data analysis results with bioinformaticians. The Research Scientist will handle the day-to-day supervision of one research technician. The Research Scientist will have broad expertise in LC- and MS-based analytical and biophysical measurements, experience in a collaborative research environment, and experience working with carbohydrates and/or glycoconjugates.
Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field and three years of experience is required.
