Job Description


Performs research coordination of both research and clinical studies.   Assists with data entry, recruitment of subjects, phlebotomy.   For the COVID-19 work,the research coordinator will be assisting with maintaining and updating REDCap testing data.  Assists with data entry and daily reporting to the Health Departments all SARS-CoV-2 positive persons; prepare research protocols for IRB submission and assist in the enrollment and consenting of persons in IRB approved research protocols; and in the collection of human clinical samples for laboratory testing. Have excellent communication skills and be able to work as team with other persons performing similar activities.

All activities will be done as part of a 4-person team. Specifically the research/clinical coordinator will be responsible for tracking daily all new SARS-CoV-2 positive subjects and reporting them to the appropriate Health departments; perform data entry into REDCap and capture and enter into the REDCap data base any missing information on requisition orders; maintain all electronic data up-to-date and accurate; participate in conference calls to discuss the operations of the REDCap database and reporting; assist in the development of research protocols and submission to the IRB; interviews, screen and recruits patients for IRB approved studies; explain process and procedures to educate participants regarding the research study; collects patient information; processes documents and enters information into a database; and assist and perform collection of clinical samples such as blood and mid-turbinate respiratory samples.


Job Duties

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education Required: Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Experience Required: One year of relevant experience.
  • Certification/Licenses/Registration: None Required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five years of relevant experience preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish)
  • Venipuncture skills and/or willingness to acquire venipuncture skills
  • Excellent communication skills, advanced computer data entry and software knowledge and team work is required for working in this highly dynamic position
