Postdoctoral Research Fellows: Innate Immunity and Inflammation 

NIH-funded postdoctoral positions are immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. K. P. Connie Tam at the Department of Ophthalmic Research, Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute and Lerner Research Institute.

Our lab employs various cell and molecular biology techniques, biochemical assays, flow cytometry, fluorescence and live cell imaging, and mouse models of corneal infection, inflammation and wound healing.


Fellows will conduct basic and translational research to delineate novel mechanisms of innate defense, inflammation regulation and wound healing at the corneal epithelial barrier. We are interested in developing new antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory therapeutics. Our projects are fully supported by NIH grants R01EY030577, R01EY030111 and R01EY031463 (project descriptions in A National Eye Institute T32 Institutional Research Training Grant is also available to qualified fellows.


Applicants should hold a PhD or MD/PhD degree with a strong background in cell biology, cell signaling and/or immunology. Previous experience with mouse models of inflammatory diseases is desirable. The successful candidate is expected to be self-motivated, productive, diligent, competent in scientific presentation (verbal and written), and have the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
