Job DescriptionPostdoctoral fellows will be expected to join a vibrant, multidisciplinary team to forward the mission of ACT-GeM, while at the same time gaining training that will help in launching their careers as independent investigators.
Functioning with progressively greater independence, Postdoctoral Associates design, organize and conduct highly specialized and advanced experiments using established scientific protocols and procedures and, in some cases, designing new protocols; publish results in research journals; assume general responsibility for scientific operations of the laboratory; provide supervision and guidance to junior technicians, students, and researchers.
1.Design and implement research protocols; design safety procedures; adapt new procedures, methods or instrumentation relative to research procedures.
2.Oversee media preparation, animal maintenance and equipment maintenance; quality control analysis of reagents.
3.Collect, prepare and analyze research data; keep a detailed notebook summarizing experiments and recording research data; maintain computer database of research data; tabulate and display data for presentation in research conferences and for manuscript preparation; use graphics and statistical software to analyze and present data.
4.Supervise other personnel in the laboratory to coordinate research efforts for increased efficiency; participate in training of fellows, residents, students and volunteer workers as needed.
5.Search pertinent scientific literature and draft/edit manuscripts.
6.Assist in grant writing.
7.Present data in written and oral form at local and national meetings.
8.Assist with ordering and procurement of supplies and equipment and with general maintenance of laboratory.
9.Performs other duties as assigned.
1.Ph.D. in a basic or health science. MD or DDS also acceptable. 0 – 2 years of experience.

4.Ability to successfully interact with diverse stakeholders including: clinicians, basic scientists, and translational researchers
