Job DescriptionThe Anagnostopoulos Research Group at the Department of Chemistry at the University of Central Florida seeks to hire a postdoctoral researcher in the field of radiochemistry and environmental radiochemistry. This is a multi-faceted project that focuses on redox phenomena on the water-sediment and mineral interfaces and their impact in contaminants envitonmental mobility. The project also involves studies of entrapment of anionic contaminants in mineral phases and their environmental stability through dissolution studies.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in chemistry or closely related field. Prior demonstrated experience with processes such as complexation, sorption, solubility and speciation is desired. Experience with spectroscopic analysis of solids and solutions (e.g. XPS) will also be viewed favorably.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: design and execution of experiments, characterization, preparing progress presentations and reports to the sponsors, providing guidance to graduate students, assisting the PI in group management, maintaining excellent lab safety and contributing to an inclusive, diverse working environment.
